Motion with a job to do
Animation has moved from decoration to orientation. The transitions worth keeping are the ones that explain where a screen came from and where it is going; the rest are latency you chose to add.
Accessible contrast as a default
Low-contrast interfaces are being retired, and not only for compliance reasons. Readable type and visible focus states measurably reduce support load, especially on mobile in bright light.
Fewer, denser screens
Teams are collapsing multi-step flows back into single, well-organised screens. Progressive disclosure handles the complexity instead of pagination, and completion rates tend to follow.
